  1. To begin, open the PDF using Acrobat DC.
  2. Next, choose “Tools,” then “Organize Pages”. 
  3. You may also select “Organize Pages” located in the pane on the right.

  1. In Adobe DC’s secondary toolbar, select the page range where you would like to apply the rotation.
  2. Here, you have the option to choose “Even” or “Odd” Pages, as well as “Landscape,” “Portrait,” or “All” Pages. 
  3. You may also enter the page number that you wish to use to perform the operation.
  4. After indicating the desired page range, choose either clockwise 90° or counterclockwise 90° for the desired direction.

  1. Clicking the buttons in the page thumbnail view to apply page rotation can be used, as well.

Please note that you can temporarily alter the view of the page by selecting “View,” “Rotate View,” then “Counterclockwise,” or “Clockwise.” When you open the PDF again, the original orientation of the page will be restored.

How to rotate a PDF by right-clicking 

You may also choose to use your mouse to complete the necessary rotations.

  1. Use the PDF reader to open the document you wish to rotate.
  2. Click “View” in the uppermost toolbar.
  3. Hover your mouse cursor over “Rotate View”.
  4. Choose the direction that you wish to rotate the document.
  5. You may also right-click anywhere on the document and select “Rotate”.
  6. From there or using the “Rotate View” option above, click either “Counterclockwise” or “Clockwise” to rotate the PDF 90° in your chosen direction. To flip 180°, simply mouse-click two times in any one direction.

How to rotate a PDF with hotkeys

To make your life easier, you can use shortcuts on your keyboard for faster rotating. 

  1. Use the PDF reader to open the document you wish to rotate
  2. Using your computer keyboard, press “SHIFT, CTRL, +
  3. This will effectively rotate your PDF clockwise
  4. Again using your computer keyboard, press “SHIFT, CTRL, -
  5. This will effectively rotate your PDF counterclockwise

Be sure to save the PDF once all pages have been aligned correctly according to your needs. All pages will remain exactly where they were when you open the file again.

Please note that the instructions above use quotations only to house the keys you need to press. You do not press quotation keys at any time. Moreover, the “+” symbol is designated along with the “=” key on your keyboard. Thus, it acts as the same key.

So, pressing the SHIFT key along with the CTRL key and the + (plus) key will rotate your PDF clockwise. Simply replace the + (plus) key with the - (minus) key to rotate the document counterclockwise.

How to Rotate All Pages in a PDF File With Adobe

Let’s look at how to achieve this using Adobe Acrobat first. Then, we’ll explore how to do it using third-party apps.

  1. To begin, view the PDF by opening it in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Then, using “Organize Pages,” select “Tools,” then “Organize Pages”.
  3. Please note that you can also find the “Organize Pages” option in the pane on the right.
  4. Now, select the pages you wish to rotate.
  5. You can rotate all pages or just a few pages by pressing the shift key and clicking the pages you wish to rotate. 
  6. You may also select a range from the secondary toolbar entitled “Enter Page Range”.
  7. When you’re ready to rotate the pages, simply click the appropriate buttons in the page thumbnail view.
  8. Please keep in mind that rotation works in 90° increments. Click the buttons in the page thumbnail view to apply page rotation.
  9. When you’re finished, click “Choose a Different Folder” to choose a folder and navigate to it. Save the file by naming it and clicking “Save.”

How to Save A PDF After Rotating 

In Adobe, you simply need to select the desired folder in which you want to save your PDF. Once you’ve chosen it, you’ll need to name the file with the desired filename.
