Inkit Strengthens Commitment to Security with Plans for IL6 Accreditation

Press Release

SAINT PAUL, Minn., Jan. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Inkit, the only Secure Document Generation (SDG) and e-signature software provider with U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Impact Level 4 (IL4) and Impact Level 5 (IL5) certifications, announced its commitment to pursuing IL6 accreditation. Once achieved, IL6 will enable Inkit to support classified SECRET-level information, further advancing its mission to deliver unparalleled security and compliance for U.S. military organizations.

DOD Impact Levels categorize information systems based on the sensitivity of the data they handle, with IL6 reserved for protecting highly sensitive, SECRET-level information critical to national security. Achieving this certification requires adherence to over 300 rigorous security controls, including advanced encryption, strict access controls, and robust incident response protocols.

"Inkit's dedication to security has always set us apart. Our journey to IL6 reflects our commitment to enabling the U.S. military to securely generate, manage, and safeguard classified information. - Jose Oyola Cabello, Director of Engineering, Inkit.

"Inkit's dedication to security has always set us apart," said Jose Oyola Cabello, Director of Engineering at Inkit. "Our journey to IL6 reflects our commitment to enabling the U.S. military to securely generate, manage, and safeguard classified information. While we already provide exceptional security at IL4 and IL5, we aim to raise the bar even higher."

‍

‍Why IL6 Matters

SECRET-level classified information includes sensitive military plans, technological developments, and other data that, if disclosed, could seriously harm national security. With cyber threats evolving through AI and quantum computing advancements, IL6 ensures the highest level of protection for this critical information. Inkit's platform, uniquely designed for secure document lifecycle management, already provides advanced capabilities to U.S. government organizations, including:

  • Secure document and form generation
  • Automated document workflows
  • CAC-authenticated digital signatures
  • Comprehensive digital records management

‍

Building on a Strong Foundation

As the only SDG platform with IL4 and IL5 certification, Inkit stands out as a trusted partner for federal organizations. This foundation positions Inkit as the front-runner to achieve IL6 accreditation, showcasing its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the DOD and U.S. Navy."We are actively investing in the processes and partnerships necessary to meet IL6 standards," said Michael McCarthy, CEO of Inkit. "This next step solidifies our commitment to supporting U.S. military operations by providing the most secure document solutions on the market."

‍

Next Steps for Inkit's Security Roadmap

Inkit is currently working with industry-leading compliance experts to achieve IL6 accreditation. The company's proactive approach ensures a seamless transition to the new standard while maintaining its existing leadership in document security at IL5.
